Luann Overmyer, Advanced Instructor

Luann Overmyer has over 30 years experience with Ortho-Bionomy® and has trained and taught extensively in the field of body awareness, structural balance and wellbeing throughout the US, Australia, and other countries throughout the world.

She is the author of the book Ortho-Bionomy: A Path to Self-Care that has already been translated into several languages.

She is an amazing teacher with an incredible depth of knowledge and experience.  Her classes are engaging, informative, tremendously practical and really a lot of fun.  You will leave with skills that you can use immediately in your practice.

Jim Bern, Advanced Instructor

 

Jim Berns is a Registered Ortho-Bionomy® Advanced Instructor and Senior Practitioner.  He has been trained directly by the founder, English Osteopath, Dr. Arthur Lincoln Pauls D.O. Jim is co-author with Kathy Kain of the training book Ortho-Bionomy A Practical Manual (North Atlantic Books, Berkeley, Ca.) which has sold over 18,000 copies. Jim has taught Ortho-Bionomy internationally and throughout the United States.  Jim was given the "Excellence in Massage Education Award" by the AMTA-CA (American Massage Therapy Association, California Chapter) for his excellence in teaching and sharing his knowledge.  He has been a Certified Massage Therapist since 1979 and is a registered California instructor in massage therapy.  Jim was the originator of how to blend Ortho-Bionomy and Massage.  Jim was an invited presenter at the 2014 AMTA National Convention in Denver, CO.  His private practice has had many successful referral cases including post surgery work, accident cases, emotional trauma, peak performance, and pain management. Jim brings to his 34 years of teaching - detailed information, a compassionate heart and his "unique" sense of humor.

Jessica Mark, Associate Advanced Instructor

Jessica has been involved in the movement, fitness, and wellness field for over twenty years. Her greatest love is working with and learning from the body. She is an Ortho-Bionomy® Instructor, Advanced Ortho-Bionomy® Practitioner and certified Pilates instructor. She currently owns and operates two locations of Happy Body, a fitness and wellness studio in Asheville, NC. Through the Ortho-Bionomy in Asheville program, she trains and mentors students through an embodied and wholistic approach. Jessica complements her primary practices of Ortho-Bionomy and Pilates with studies in Polarity Therapy, Gyrokinesis®, Trauma Therapy, and Body-Mind Centering®. Her experience as a professional dancer has strengthened the connection of touch and movement to create an accessible and engaging style of teaching. Jessica is a happy mama to Sydney and Jonathan, and a sensationally lucky partner to husband, Rich.

Lynne Marotta, Associate Advanced Instructor

 

Lynne Marotta is a Registered Instructor with the Society of Ortho-Bionomy International®. She has been actively practicing therapeutic bodywork since 2003 in her hometown of Leonia, New Jersey. Lynne was fortunate to have studied with many instructors throughout the Ortho-Bionomy community.  Beginning in 1993, Lynne became an International Master teacher of Callanetics. She brings her knowledge of movement into her Ortho-Bionomy practice as well as her style of teaching this work.

Michael Miller, Associate Advanced Instructor

Michael Miller is an Associate Advanced Instructor of Ortho-Bionomy. He became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 1993 and has a NYS Massage license since 1997. He started practicing Ortho-Bionomy in 2000 to compliment his massage practice and help people when massage was not enough. He started teaching in 2009. His goal is to help people understand and practice the principles of Ortho-Bionomy; so people can help their clients and themselves have better lives.
